Huntsman is looking for an experienced EHS Officer with a background working in a continuous flow manufacturing environment to join our chemical site based at Wilton (this is a full‐time onsite role). Reporting to the Site EHS Manager you will be responsible for building strong working relationships with site operations teams to promote our corporate EHS culture whilst also being involved in monitoring plans, P2W verifications and sharing best practice across site functions to achieve required EHS standards.

We are looking for experienced candidates with excellent communication skills and a solution‐focused approach.

Role Responsibilities
  • Build relationships with site personnel and conduct regular safety walks and safety interactions to ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with Corporate, Business and Site EHS Policies.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of EHS standards and implement agreed actions to enhance the site's overall performance.
  • Supervise the disposal of controlled waste to ensure the required legal requirements are met.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice so that appropriate advice can be provided to identify and solve EHS issues.
  • Support the development, maintenance and implementation of site Improvement Plans / Sites IPPC Permit responsibilities and work with the EHS Manager to ensure full compliance to meet legal requirements and corporate standards.
  • Review and update safety procedures and conduct audit compliance of safety procedures while taking appropriate action when non‐compliance is evident.
  • Actively participate in and promote the site Behavioral Safety Programme, reviewing observations and taking appropriate action to help maintain the effectiveness of the programme.
  • Manage procurement, issuance and maintenance of the appropriate site PPE, including monitoring and control of the PPE budget.
  • Contribute to and lead specific project groups as part of EHS Steering Group activities.
Experience and Competencies
  • Previous experience working in a continuous flow manufacturing sector (e.g. Chemical, Oil, Gas or Pharmaceutical sectors) in an EHS function and in a COMAH‐regulated site.
  • NEBOSH Certification or Diploma is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with site personnel.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver group training and presentation sessions on site.
  • Previous experience conducting Risk Assessments, JSA's and audits.
