This is a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist consultancy firm that is becoming a globally recognised name in the Data Centre market.

Located near London Bridge, this firm is seeking an electrically biased Technical Programme Manager (PM background) to serve as the strategic right hand for their client's Regional Programme Manager.

Candidates will need to independently own and drive the design lifecycle of data centre electrical infrastructure, from the basis of design through to construction.

This role will focus on overseeing the comprehensive project delivery of substations/switching stations engineering and high-voltage asset design packages.

You can expect to have the following responsibilities in the role

  • Develop design and build instructions for electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Coordinate and track design packages with the client and their partners.
  • Support in design risk evaluation, risk management, and budget control throughout the design lifecycle.
  • Manage the change control process for design execution and manage the cost approval process with external and internal partners.
  • Manage project design meetings and coordinate engineering evaluation phases alongside all collaborating teams.
  • Manage proposal reviews, contract award, and similar tasks, and process contract documents through the established client processes.
  • Monitor and track contract schedules and issue progress reports.
  • Support contract negotiation, typically in concert with the client's PM and legal counsel, including establishment of all GC “business terms” including mark-ups, fees, insurance, labor rates, escalation, etc.
  • Provide/gather cost estimates, working with subs and other vendors for scope gaps and changes.
  • Ensure QA/QC process is being followed and report any issues/gaps.
  • Oversee invoice/payment processing, tracking and reporting.
  • Assist client in negotiating, resolving and closing change orders, design proposal quality issues and contract disputes.
  • Assist client in scheduling, coordination and management of all owner-direct vendors.
  • Required experience
  • Bachelor's Degree - Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in large-sale/ HV electrical infrastructure development, ideally for UK Power Network/ Grid or Data Centre, High Tech / Manufacturing
  • Excellent written and verbal communicator

On offer is a salary between £80,000 - £100,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package. Candidates will be expected in the office 3 days per week.
