Learning Support Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant
- Southampton - Near Central
- Day shifts available across Monday – Friday to fit with your availability (full and part time hours available)
- Term time only - 8.40am-3.20pm
- Pay Rate: £12.75 - £13 per hour
- On going temporary contracts are available for suitable applicants
A unique role has become available supporting children and young people with special educational needs (SEN) in a classroom setting in Southampton
Hunts Recruitment is looking for enthusiastic, skilled and resilient Learning Support Assistants to work on a flexible basis within an Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' special needs school.
You will be working with young people who have a range of needs including profound and complex difficulties, severe learning difficulties and autism. This vacancy includes providing personal care to students, and supporting them with physically challenging behaviours. Please only consider this job vacancy if you are happy with this.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Experience working or volunteering with children with SEN ideally within a school setting or similar
- Be open to short notice cover
- Proactive work ethic
- Resilient & patient nature
- A good understanding of special educational needs and behaviours
- The ability to provide a range of support to pupils
- Be flexible and committed to the hours you can offer
