Hunts Recruitment is seeking experienced Support Workers for an exciting temporary to permanent opportunity in Southampton!

For this role you will need:

  • Experience of working with and/or supporting children and young people
  • A full UK Drivers License and be willing to gain business insurance for your vehicle
  • Be able to work 24-hour shifts from 9.30am-11pm, sleep in, 7.00am-9.30am
  • The full right to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship - unfortunately our client is not able to offer sponsorship currently

The above are essential for this job role so please only apply if you meet the criteria.

£12.29-£12.50 per hour, £52 per sleep in duty, 24-hour shifts from 9.30am-9.30am including a sleep in. Based in Southampton.

Main Duties and Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children and young people as well as understanding of the issues that face young people in care
  • Working within Residential and Supported Living services for young people in care who may have experienced trauma, neglect and/or abuse
  • Promoting, safeguarding and protecting the welfare of young people
  • Encouraging the development of the individual interests of young people
  • Hold Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma/Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent or be willing to work towards a required qualification and upgrade to a Level 4 diploma. (Not essential, but desirable)
  • Have a full UK driving licence and car as this role will involve accessing the community with the young people
  • You will need a portable DBS (Registered on the update service) or be willing to pay for a DBS (We can assist with the process)
  • Experience with Emotional Behavioural Disorder, Social/Residential Work or Youth Work would be advantageous.
