About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead a children's residential home supporting young people in a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment. You will be responsible for the overall management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, compliance, and team performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a positive, child-centred culture where young people can thrive, develop independence, and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strong leadership and day-to-day operational management of the home.
- Recruit, supervise, develop, and motivate a high-performing staff team.
- Lead by example and promote best practice across all areas of service delivery.
- Ensure full compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, and safeguarding requirements.
- Maintain high standards of care and support that contribute to positive Ofsted outcomes.
- Manage all regulatory requirements, notifications, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee the development and implementation of individual care plans.
- Work collaboratively with social workers, healthcare professionals, education providers, and families.
- Ensure children receive the support, stability, and opportunities needed to achieve positive outcomes.
- Promote the physical, emotional, educational, and social wellbeing of all young people.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Ensure the home remains safe, welcoming, and appropriately maintained.
- Monitor staffing levels, rotas, and operational performance.
Essential Requirements:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards).
- Minimum 2 years' experience within a children's residential setting in the last 5 years.
- At least 1 year's experience in a supervisory or management position within a children's residential home.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures, child protection legislation, and Ofsted regulations.
- Eligible to register with Ofsted as a Registered Manager.
Desirable:
- Experience leading a home to a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating.
- Therapeutic care experience or training.
- Full UK driving licence.
