Hunts Recruitment is looking for passionate Waking Night Support Workers for a child care team near Totton. You will be working with young people with additional behaviours and emotional needs within a residential setting. Please note, this role includes working with challenging behaviours.

Job Type: Permanent - Full time

Salary: £26,000 - £29,500 per annum

Hours: 22.30 - 8.30am - 4 nights one week and 3 the next (must be flexible to work an hour either side of above times if required)

Qualifications: NVQ 2 or above preferred but not essential

Your job role will be:

  • To help provide a therapeutic, structured and relaxed environment in which young people can develop and enjoy their lives
  • To facilitate good communication within all levels of the staff team
  • Identifying the young person's emotional, physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs and make appropriate decisions for action in consultation with the Management Team
  • To supervise and share meal times with the young people, to encourage a positive attitude towards food and appropriate behaviour at mealtimes
  • To assist in the delivery of care and leisure opportunities following individual activity programmes in conjunction with, and following guidance from day service staff
