Hunts Recruitment is urgently recruiting Female Waking Night Support Workers to provide support within a residential children's home in the RH20 area. We have a significant amount of work available at this service, with a couple of hundred hours of waking night cover available each month. Both full-time and part-time hours are available, making this a great opportunity whether you're looking for regular agency work or additional waking night shifts alongside your existing commitments. Due to the current urgency, we can offer immediate onboarding for suitable candidates who are able to complete our compliance process promptly.
The Role
You will be working waking night shifts within an established residential home supporting children in care. Your role will include maintaining a safe and supportive environment throughout the night, responding to the individual needs of the children and young people and working alongside the wider residential care team.
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing safe and consistent support throughout the night
- Supporting children and young people with their individual needs
- Promoting their safety, wellbeing and emotional security
- Completing regular observations and checks where required
- Responding appropriately to incidents or behaviours that may challenge
- Following individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
- Completing accurate records and handovers
- Working closely with permanent members of the residential team
Hours Available
We currently have a high volume of waking night shifts available, with a couple of hundred hours of cover required each month. Shift times are 10pm-7am.

Essential Requirements
Applicants must be female due to the specific needs of the children and young people supported by the service. This requirement is an occupational requirement relating to the nature of the role. Previous experience within children's residential care, children's support services or a similar care/support environment would be highly desirable.
You will also need to be:
- Reliable and dependable
- Confident working waking night shifts
- Caring, patient and professional
- Able to maintain appropriate professional boundaries
- Committed to safeguarding children and young people
- Comfortable supporting children who may display behaviours that challenge
- Drivers are strongly preferred due to the location of the service and limited accessibility, particularly around waking night shift times
