We are working with a well-established organisation to recruit a Logistics & Procurement Officer on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced supply chain, procurement or logistics professional to join a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment where ongoing training and development is fully supported.
The role is primarily focused on procurement, with additional responsibilities across transport, logistics planning and fleet management. The successful candidate will play a key part in ensuring product availability, optimised stock levels and the smooth coordination of company deliveries.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage purchasing of production, sales and service materials
- Use forecasting and sales data to raise accurate purchase orders
- Maintain optimal inventory levels, safety stock and MOQ management
- Investigate supply issues, monitor unavailability and reduce wastage
- Liaise confidently with suppliers, resolve queries and support invoicing accuracy
- Support production planning and maintain accurate scheduling data
- Provide product availability updates and communicate key information internally
- Produce reports, statistics and planning insights for stakeholders
- Champion continuous improvement and contribute to operational efficiency
- Maintain vehicle files, records, MOTs, inspections and insurance
- Oversee tachograph downloads, driver hours and ensure full compliance with EU and GB driving regulations
- Plan efficient delivery routes, balancing payload, time constraints and cost-effectiveness
- Manage outsourced logistics providers where required
- Communicate with customers ahead of scheduled deliveries and ensure safe unloading arrangements
- Oversee completion and upload of delivery notes, ensuring accuracy and resolving any issues
What we are looking for:
- Minimum 3 years' experience across supply chain, procurement, logistics, planning or similar high-volume environments
- Strong organisation, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships
- Strong IT capability including Excel and the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Experience in fleet management and knowledge of driving legislation (tachographs, infringements, working time directive)
- A collaborative, proactive and detail-focused approach
- The ability to work to tight deadlines with accuracy and professionalism
- A genuine willingness to learn and develop
