We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and dynamic Project Manager to join a high-profile transformation programme in Hertfordshire. This is a temporary opportunity for 10 months (until March 2027), offering the chance to lead and deliver complex projects within a large, multi-stakeholder environment. This role sits within a major strategic programme and will play a key part in driving delivery, managing risks, and ensuring alignment across multiple workstreams and partner organisations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex projects and workstreams, ensuring alignment with overall programme objectives and timelines.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project and programme plans, identifying dependencies, milestones, and resource requirements.
  • Manage programme risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies and escalating where appropriate.
  • Provide regular reporting on progress, including variance analysis, to senior stakeholders and governance forums.
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including clinical, operational, and external partners.
  • Chair project and programme meetings, facilitating discussions and ensuring actions are progressed.
  • Contribute to service redesign, transformation initiatives, and business case development.
  • Oversee aspects of programme budget management and ensure value for money.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience managing complex projects within the NHS or a similar public sector environment.
  • Demonstrable experience working across multiple stakeholders and delivering cross-functional programmes.
  • Strong understanding of programme governance, risk management, and reporting processes.
  • Experience of service redesign, transformation, or large-scale change initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to work at pace and manage competing priorities.
  • Relevant project management qualification or equivalent experience.
