Head of Finance - Hybrid (Minimum 3 days office-based)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Finance to join a unique and well-established heritage organisation during a pivotal period of transformation.
Reporting to the Finance Director and working closely with the Executive Team, you'll lead the day-to-day finance function, managing a small team while ensuring robust financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial controls.
You'll also play a key role in an exciting strategic programme to support the organisation's transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring an efficient and effective finance function.
Produce accurate monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
Manage cash flow, financial reporting, statutory compliance, VAT and payroll.
Oversee the annual audit and maintain strong financial controls.
Partner with budget holders and senior leadership to provide commercial financial insight.
Support a major organisational transformation, including new accounting processes, Gift Aid implementation and the creation of a trading subsidiary.
Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, processes and reporting.
About You
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent senior finance experience).
Proven experience leading a finance function and managing a team.
Strong technical accounting, reporting, budgeting and forecasting skills.
Advanced Excel skills and experience using finance systems.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
Experience within charities, not-for-profit organisations or finance transformation projects would be advantageous but is not essential.
