We're recruiting on behalf of an organisation in Ashford, Kent for an experienced Employee Relations specialist to join on an initial 6‑month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension. This role sits at the sharp end of ER - you'll be the go‑to for case management, union relationships, and manager coaching across the business, with real scope to shape how ER is handled.

What you'll be doing:

  • Owning a caseload of ER issues – disciplinaries, grievances, absence management – from first contact through to resolution
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for trade union representatives, maintaining constructive working relationships
  • Coaching and upskilling managers on employment law and ER best practice
  • Designing and delivering ER training across the business
  • Supporting HR policy development and implementation
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders on people solutions tied to business goals

What you'll bring:

  • CIPD Level 5 (essential)
  • Solid ER‑focused HR generalist background
  • Direct, hands‑on experience working with trade unions – this is essential, not preferred
  • Strong employment law knowledge
  • Confidence operating and influencing at senior level
  • Able to commit to 4 days/week on‑site in Ashford, Kent for the contract duration
