Procurement Specialist - Strategic Procurement (Engineering / Technical Environment)
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Specialist to take on a strategically focused role within a fast-paced, engineering-led environment. This position will suit a commercially astute procurement professional who can balance long-term value creation with hands-on operational support when required.
The role is primarily strategic in nature, with a strong emphasis on driving cost efficiencies, and delivering end-to-end procurement projects. However, flexibility is key - the successful candidate will also be expected to support wider site requirements, including sourcing quotations and raising purchase orders during peak demand or business-critical periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver cost-saving initiatives and value engineering projects
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiations, and performance
- Take ownership of projects from initial concept through to delivery and implementation
- Support contract negotiations, develop framework agreements, and commercial terms
- Provide cross-site support when needed, including providing budgetary quotes, formulating a tender process and preparing purchase orders
About You
- Proven experience in a procurement role within an engineering or technical environment
- Strong commercial awareness with a track record of delivering cost savings
- Experience managing projects end-to-end, with a proactive and self-starting approach
- Confident in negotiating contracts and supplier agreements
- Able to operate both strategically and tactically, adapting to business needs
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
