We are recruiting on behalf of an organisation in Ashford, Kent for an experienced Employee Relations specialist to join on an initial 6-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension. This role sits at the sharp end of ER - you’ll be the go-to for case management, union relationships, and manager coaching across the business, with real scope to shape how ER is handled.
What you’ll be doing:
- Owning a caseload of ER issues - disciplinaries, grievances, absence management - from first contact through to resolution
- Acting as the primary point of contact for trade union representatives, maintaining constructive working relationships
- Coaching and upskilling managers on employment law and ER best practice
- Designing and delivering ER training across the business
- Supporting HR policy development and implementation
- Partnering with senior stakeholders on people solutions tied to business goals
What you’ll bring:
- CIPD Level 5 (essential)
- Solid ER-focused HR generalist background
- Direct, hands-on experience working with trade unions - this is essential, not preferred
- Strong employment law knowledge
- Confidence operating and influencing at senior level
- Able to commit to 4 days/week on-site in Ashford, Kent for the contract duration
