Due to hours and location a driving licence is essential. Shift pattern: 4 days on, 2 days off. Working 4pm - midnight. Average 35 hours per week. Β£16.75 per hour + Holiday Pay.

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Laboratory Administrator to support our clients busy laboratory operations. This is a varied role combining administrative responsibilities with hands-on laboratory tasks, ideal for someone who enjoys both desk-based and practical work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative Duties
    • Booking in and registering samples using the Laboratory Information Management System
    • Producing Excel reports to monitor outstanding requests and support operational needs
    • Managing a shared inbox, responding to queries from internal teams and customers
    • Providing general administrative support, including reporting as required
  • Laboratory Duties
    • Organising, labelling, and storing samples accurately
    • Preparing and labelling sample containers for customer use
    • Adding required reagents to containers and ensuring correct dating and traceability
    • Cleaning and preparing containers and laboratory equipment for reuse

About You

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and general IT systems
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Good communication skills and a proactive, team-focused approach
  • Comfortable working in both office and laboratory environments
