A dynamic, fast-paced business is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to lead safety, compliance, and wellbeing across warehouse, retail, and head office teams. This role is central to maintaining a safe, engaging, and fully compliant working environment, while also supporting efficient warehouse operations.
What You'll Do
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Own and continuously improve Health & Safety policies, ensuring full compliance with legislation and HSE guidance.
- Drive a positive, engaging safety culture, encouraging shared responsibility across all teams.
- Carry out and review risk assessments, safe systems of work, COSHH documentation, and training records.
- Lead internal audits, inspections, and investigations into accidents and near misses, ensuring actions are completed quickly.
- Manage RIDDOR reporting and liaise with external bodies when needed.
- Deliver or coordinate training, inductions, toolbox talks, and refresher sessions.
- Lead fire safety processes, including drills, equipment checks, and emergency planning.
- Track, analyse, and present H&S KPIs to senior leadership.
- Occupational Health & Wellbeing
- Work with HR on occupational health, wellbeing initiatives, and return-to-work plans.
- Ensure colleagues have the right support following injury, illness, or workplace incidents.
- Environmental & Sustainability
- Manage environmental reporting and compliance.
- Support sustainability activity across operations and facilities.
- Warehouse Operations Oversight
- Work closely with the Warehouse Manager to maintain a safe, efficient, high-performing operation.
- Ensure colleagues follow safe working practices and hold the correct licences (FLT, First Aid, Fire Marshal).
- Support continuous improvement projects to boost accuracy, safety, and productivity.
- Oversee space, layout, and equipment planning to maintain safe workflows.
- Assist with stock management, audits, and loss-prevention controls.
About You
You're approachable, proactive, and confident influencing at all levels. You bring strong technical H&S knowledge with experience gained in warehouse, logistics, retail, or manufacturing environments. NEBOSH OR IOSH is essential.
You're committed to building a culture where safety is part of everyday thinking, backed by solid operational awareness and a practical mindset.
