We\’re looking for someone with experience purchasing raw materials (foam, plastics, and upholstery ideal but not necessary), ready to step into a role with autonomy and ownership. You\’ll be the sole Buyer for one manufacturing site, managing the full supplier relationship cycle from negotiation through to contracts.
This role is ideal for a Junior Buyer or Buying Coordinator ready to progress, or an experienced Buyer seeking a meaningful role with impact.
What you\’ll be doing:
Managing material requirements planning (MRP)
Negotiating with suppliers to achieve best value and performance
Running supplier reviews and drafting supplier contracts
Sourcing and onboarding new suppliers
Authorising invoices and ensuring cost targets are achieved
Building strong, lasting supplier relationships
What we\’re looking for:
Proven experience purchasing raw materials (foam, plastics, upholstery preferred)
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
Able to work in a fast-paced, pressurised environment while maintaining accuracy
Someone who thrives with autonomy and takes ownership of results
Salary up to £32,000
Based in Halifax, West Yorkshire (fully office-based)
Weekly travel to Staffordshire site (pool car provided) so own driving license required
Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:00-4:30 (occasional flexibility needed)
