An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Finance to join a unique and well-established heritage organisation during a pivotal period of transformation. Reporting to the Finance Director and working closely with the Executive Team, you'll lead the day-to-day finance function, managing a small team while ensuring robust financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial controls. You'll also play a key role in an exciting strategic programme to support the organisation's transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring an efficient and effective finance function.
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
- Manage cash flow, financial reporting, statutory compliance, VAT and payroll.
- Oversee the annual audit and maintain strong financial controls.
- Partner with budget holders and senior leadership to provide commercial financial insight.
- Support a major organisational transformation, including new accounting processes, Gift Aid implementation and the creation of a trading subsidiary.
- Drive continuous improvement across finance systems, processes and reporting.
About You
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent senior finance experience).
- Proven experience leading a finance function and managing a team.
- Strong technical accounting, reporting, budgeting and forecasting skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using finance systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Experience within charities, not-for-profit organisations or finance transformation projects would be advantageous but is not essential.
