An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced CAD Design Engineer to join a well-established and growing engineering business. This senior role will see you leading technical design across multiple projects, working closely with commercial, operations and project teams to deliver practical, compliant and cost-effective solutions.
Location: Reading
Salary: £40,000 - £70,000 DOE
Job Responsibilities:
- Leading technical design from concept through to project completion
- Producing and reviewing technical drawings, layouts, schematics and supporting documentation
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant British Standards and current legislation
- Managing multiple projects while providing technical support during installation and delivery
- Working alongside estimating, commercial and operational teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Mentoring junior designers and supporting continuous improvement within the design team
Skills and Experience:
- Working knowledge of relevant British Standards, including BS5839, BS5266 and BS7671
- Previous experience in a Design Engineer, CAD Design Engineer or Building Services Design role
- Strong AutoCAD and/or Revit skills
- Experience producing detailed technical drawings and design documentation
- HNC/HND or Degree in Building Services, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Full UK driving license
