Our client is a well-established and reputable distribution organisation, recognised for its commitment to delivering outstanding service. They are seeking a talented Procurement Specialist to join their growing team as Procurement and Inventory Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong procurement and supply chain knowledge as well as excellent computer skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
As the Procurement and Inventory Manager, you will be an integral part of the operations team, ensuring the smooth coordination of supplier management, stock management, shipping, customs processes and overall supply chain activities. You will work closely with both internal teams, particularly the Sales team, and external suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and maintain efficient operations. Excel proficiency will be essential, as you will be responsible for managing data and generating reports to track inventory and shipments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the flow of goods throughout the supply chain, from receiving orders to delivery.
- Maintain accurate stock levels and ensure timely replenishment in line with customer demand.
- Oversee shipping and logistics processes, ensuring all shipments are compliant with customs regulations.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to effectively manage customer expectations on order delivery times.
- Use advanced Excel skills to generate reports, monitor stock levels, track shipping progress and analyse key procurement data.
- Communicate with suppliers, customs authorities, and external partners to resolve any issues that may arise.
- Continuously assess and improve supplier relations and supply chain processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure proper documentation is maintained for shipments, customs clearance, and inventory control.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in procurement, supply chain, logistics and/or distribution roles, with a focus on stock management and shipping.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including report creation and data analysis).
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Knowledge of customs regulations and processes is beneficial but not essential, it can be taught within the role.
