Summary: Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a highly experienced Engineer Software 5 to support the Joint Training Synthetic Environment (JTSE), JLVC Modernization efforts for Joint Staff J7(JS J-7) contract at our Suffolk, VA Joint Staff Complex. This is a high impact role for someone who thrives in complex, multi-domain environments and enjoys leading large scale modernization efforts that directly support joint warfighter readiness.

What You Will Do

• Lead the design, engineering, and integration of innovative solutions to address Joint Operational Training Gaps.
• Oversee planning, execution, and delivery of major software development efforts, ensuring alignment with mission goals and stakeholder expectations.
• Guide technical integration across multiple M&S domains, including emerging areas such as Space M&S.
• Serve as a primary technical liaison with government leadership, military partners, and adjacent organizations.
• Evaluate industry tools, technologies, and processes for potential integration into JLVC modernization efforts.
• Architect scalable, flexible, and efficient LVC training solutions that support joint operational readiness.

What You Must Have

• 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
• Ten plus years of hands on experience with Modeling & Simulation (M&S) solutions and Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) systems and architectures.
• Ten plus years integrating LVC solutions, including work with simulation interoperability standards and data translation.
• Five plus years supporting live training range systems, networks, and associated architectures.
• Demonstrated experience working within Joint LVC training environments, systems, and architectures.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience supporting large scale government or military M&S training systems.
• Proven success leading cross functional teams in developing or modernizing JOTG solutions.
• Strong understanding of networking and multi domain integration techniques.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate across senior government and military stakeholders.
• Ability to operate effectively in complex, high stakes environments with tight timelines.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and innovation in solving operational training challenges.
