Summary: Join HII as we keep the world's most powerful Navy afloat! This position will be a part of the Commander, Naval Air Forces - Atlantic (CNAL) Enhanced Quality of Life (EQOL) team. This position is responsible for managing and maintaining inventory control within the Building V-88 warehouse for the team. The role supports U.S. Navy operations by ensuring timely and accurate handling of parts and equipment. This is a full-time position, located in Norfolk, VA.
What You Will Do:
- Maintains accurate inventory control and ensures proper storage, documentation, and organization of materials within the warehouse.
- Receives, inspects, and records incoming equipment and supplies in accordance with established procedures.
- Prepares, packages, and stages materials for safe and compliant transportation to designated locations.
- Coordinates and completes deliveries of parts and equipment to supported operational units or facilities.
- Operates warehouse equipment, including forklifts, and obtains and maintains required certifications.
- Utilizes standard software tools, such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Teams, to track inventory, prepare reports, and collaborate with team members.
What You Must Have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
- Ability to maintain accurate inventory records and manage the receipt and distribution of parts and equipment.
- Ability to prepare and package materials for safe and compliant transportation to supported locations.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift driver’s license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Security clearance and base access.
- Proficient using MS office software such as MS Teams and MS Excel.
Bonus Points For:
- A current, active DoD Confidential security clearance or higher.
- Prior U.S. Navy Supply system experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift forty pounds, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes and work in high heat/cold environments, aboard ships, under industrial conditions, in confined spaces, at heights, and in extreme weather.
- Ability to operate portable power tools.
- Work may involve climbing and working on ladders.
