As Marketing and Communications Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of marketing and communications activity across One Leisure and Parks and Open Spaces. You will create a joined‑up approach that increases participation and footfall while ensuring a strong, consistent and engaging brand presence across all channels. This is a highly visible, public-facing role where you will plan and deliver creative, multi‑channel campaigns that connect with diverse audiences. Using insight and data, you will evaluate effectiveness and continually improve how we communicate with our communities. You will manage a small team of marketing officers, providing clear leadership, direction and professional development while fostering a collaborative and creative environment.
Working closely with colleagues across leisure operations, parks management and corporate communications, you will also engage with external partners, community groups and suppliers. You will manage marketing budgets, ensuring value for money, and safeguard the council's brand and reputation. Your work will play a vital role in encouraging residents and visitors to enjoy our leisure facilities and green spaces, supporting health, wellbeing and community pride across the district.
Responsibilities

Qualifications and experience
- Experienced marketing and communications professional with a strong track record in planning, delivering and evaluating campaigns.
- Proven experience in leading and developing a team, managing multiple priorities and maintaining high standards in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to produce compelling content for a range of audiences and channels; proficient with digital tools, social media platforms and using customer insight to inform approach.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to build relationships across services and with external partners.
- Understanding of brand management and commitment to inclusive and accessible communications.
- Organised, creative, adaptable and motivated by purpose; proud to promote public services that benefit communities.
