This means we must employ and retain the most talented and dedicated people. Situated within the heart of the Cambridge-Peterborough Growth Area, Huntingdonshire is a beautiful district that boasts thriving market towns and many attractive villages, each with its own identity. We are an innovative and forward-thinking local authority whose residents are at the heart of our decision-making. At HDC we want to employ staff who embody our icare values (Inspiring, Collaborative, Accountable, Respectful, Enterprising), all of which support our ultimate purpose of putting our customers first.
Do you want your marketing and communications expertise to make a genuine difference to people's lives? This is an exciting opportunity to shape how residents and visitors experience some of Huntingdonshire's most valued public services, helping to inspire healthier lifestyles, stronger communities and greater engagement with our leisure centres, parks and open spaces.
As Marketing and Communications Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of marketing and communications activity across One Leisure and Parks and Open Spaces. You will create a joined-up approach that increases participation and footfall while ensuring a strong, consistent and engaging brand presence across all channels. This is a highly visible, public-facing role where you will plan and deliver creative, multi-channel campaigns that connect with diverse audiences. Using insight and data, you will evaluate effectiveness and continually improve how we communicate with our communities.
You will manage a small team of marketing officers, providing clear leadership, direction and professional development while fostering a collaborative and creative environment. Working closely with colleagues across leisure operations, parks management and corporate communications, you will also engage with external partners, community groups and suppliers. You will manage marketing budgets, ensuring value for money, and safeguard the council's brand and reputation. Your work will play a vital role in encouraging residents and visitors to enjoy our leisure facilities and green spaces, supporting health, wellbeing and community pride across the district.
You are an experienced marketing and communications professional with a strong track record of planning, delivering and evaluating successful campaigns. You bring proven experience of leading and developing a team, managing multiple priorities and working at a pace while maintaining high standards. You are confident in producing compelling content for a range of audiences and channels, and are comfortable using digital tools, social media platforms and customer insight to inform your approach. You are a natural collaborator, able to build effective relationships across services and with external partners, and you communicate with clarity, credibility and impact.
You have a strong understanding of brand management and are committed to inclusive and accessible communications that reflect the diversity of our communities. Organised, creative and adaptable, you are motivated by purpose and take pride in promoting public services that make a positive difference to people's lives. If you are passionate about marketing that matters, enjoy leading teams and want to use your skills in a role with real community impact, we would love to hear from you.
