Responsibilities
- Work as part of an established team conserving and enhancing the district’s heritage.
- Provide specialist technical advice on planning applications, enforcement issues and policy development.
- Assist with the management of the historic environment and the assessment of new development proposals.
- Engage effectively with customers and colleagues on heritage-related matters.
Qualifications
- A degree or equivalent in Conservation or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in assessing the impact of proposed development on heritage assets.
- IHBC accreditation is desirable.
Contract and work pattern
The post is permanent and full-time, 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. This is a hybrid role and would involve twice-weekly attendance at the office and on-site, with the opportunity for home working. You may be required on occasion to work outside normal office hours in accordance with the needs of the service.
Eligibility
An offer of employment is conditional upon having the right to work in the UK. HDC does not hold a Sponsorship Licence and is unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) or take over sponsorship for any role.
