Role Overview
The job holder is responsible for providing essential support by analysing and managing petroleum data from both historical and ongoing operations to inform technical decisions and optimisation efforts. The role involves ensuring data integrity, organising OOR-related datasets, and generating clear insights from reservoir and production data. In addition, the analyst will assist with the generation of laboratory report analysis and documentation, contributing to accurate interpretation and reporting of experimental results. This position is key to enhancing data-driven decision-making, improving knowledge management, and supporting continuous improvement within the OOR function.
Key Responsibilities
- Analysing and interpreting petroleum data from historical and current OOR operations, including production trends, reservoir performance, and treatment outcomes, to support the technical team evaluations and decision-making
- Collecting, requesting, and validating data from clients, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and alignment with OOR technical requirements
- Organising, structuring, and maintaining OOR datasets, creating clear and accessible data repositories to support efficient analysis and knowledge sharing
- Reviewing, processing, and supporting the preparation of laboratory reports, ensuring data consistency, traceability, and readiness for technical validation and approval
- Assisting in the compilation and analysis of production reports, including pre- and post-treatment performance assessments and decline trend tracking
- Supporting data integration across laboratory, field and operational sources to enable holistic technical insights and continuous improvement initiatives
- Developing and maintaining standardised templates, workflows, and data management practices to ensure consistency across projects and regions
- Providing timely analytical support, contributing to production performance reviews, technical studies, and client deliverables
- Collaborating with internal teams and external clients to ensure effective communication, data flow, and adherence to OOR technical processes
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Degree in Petroleum Engineering
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret petroleum and production datasets
- Solid understanding of reservoir engineering principles and production data analysis
- Ability to organise and manage large datasets with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Working knowledge of databases and data querying tools for efficient extraction, validation and management of large datasets
- Proactive and structured approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Highly proficient in spoken and written English
Desirable
- MSc in Data Management/ Data Analytics
- Knowledge and experience of an ERP system, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365
- Full Driving Licence
