Hunters Legal is working with a Leading London-based firm to recruit a Property Litigation Solicitor to join its well regarded and growing disputes practice. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Property Litigation team, providing a first-class service to clients including real estate developers, investors, landlords, and tenants across all sectors. The role offers exposure to a broad and interesting caseload, with responsibility for managing matters under supervision while playing an active part in client development and business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a varied caseload under supervision.
  • Advising on commercial and residential landlord and tenant disputes.
  • Handling disputes relating to development and real estate contracts, property insolvency, rights of way, adverse possession, and restrictive covenants.
  • Direct client contact to gather information and progress matters.
  • Drafting and serving contractual and statutory notices.
  • Drafting pleadings and witness statements.
  • Conducting legal research to support litigation strategy and advice.
  • Reviewing and analysing Land Registry title information.
  • Liaising with courts and Counsel, including instructing Counsel and attending hearings.
  • Working collaboratively with Counsel to develop litigation strategies.
  • Recording chargeable time accurately and leading billing on own matters.
  • Supporting business development through events, publications, and client engagement.
  • Providing guidance and informal mentoring to junior team members where appropriate.
  • Supporting the firm’s ESG and B-Corp aligned initiatives, reflecting a commitment to people, profit, and planet.

The Property Litigation team sits within a wider and well-resourced Property group, offering strong internal collaboration and exposure to a broad range of expertise. The team structure provides clear support while allowing solicitors to take meaningful ownership of their work.

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience in property litigation within private practice.
  • A strong academic background, ideally a 2:1 or equivalent from a reputable university.
  • Excellent drafting and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to manage and prioritise workloads effectively.
  • A personable and professional approach with clients and colleagues.
  • A growth mindset and enthusiasm for business development.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
