Hunters Legal is working with an International Law Firm to appoint a Private Wealth Associate to join its highly regarded London-based Private Wealth team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious private wealth lawyer to join a growing international practice recognised for advising high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals, families, family offices and trustees on complex cross-border wealth planning matters. The successful candidate will become part of a collaborative and internationally connected team, working alongside colleagues across multiple jurisdictions to deliver tailored solutions to clients with global interests.

Team Overview

The Private Wealth team advises individuals, families, trustees, family offices and private institutions on a broad range of UK and international private wealth matters. The practice has significant experience in tax, trusts, estate planning and succession, frequently acting on complex cross-border matters involving multiple jurisdictions. Working closely with colleagues across an established international network, the team delivers commercially focused and bespoke advice to clients navigating wealth preservation, international mobility and succession planning.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will advise on a varied mix of domestic and international private wealth matters, acting for high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals, trustees and family offices. They will play an active role in managing client relationships, drafting complex legal documentation and supporting the continued growth of the practice through business development and profile-raising activities.

This role would suit a lawyer with strong technical knowledge, excellent drafting skills and an interest in building a long-term career within a leading international private wealth practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on UK and international tax, trust and estate planning for high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals and families.
  • Providing guidance on domestic and offshore trust structures, foundations, private trust companies, partnerships and other wealth holding vehicles.
  • Advising on succession planning, inheritance tax, business relief, wills, estate administration and lifetime planning.
  • Supporting internationally mobile clients on residence, domicile and cross-border tax considerations.
  • Advising settlors, trustees, protectors and beneficiaries on trust administration, trustee duties, trust interpretation and trust restructurings.
  • Drafting a broad range of legal documentation, including wills, trust instruments and ancillary private wealth documentation.
  • Undertaking detailed legal and tax research using internal and external resources.
  • Preparing articles, technical updates and client publications.
  • Managing client communications under partner supervision while building trusted long-term relationships.
  • Supporting business development initiatives, networking events, seminars and marketing activities.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across multiple international offices on cross-border matters.
  • Assisting with financial management, including budgeting, time recording, billing and matter profitability.
  • Maintaining excellent file management and regulatory compliance standards.
