A leading Regional Firm has an excellent opportunity for a Lawyer to join its Dispute Resolution team in the Thames Valley. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of contentious matters, with a particular focus on complex private client disputes. The role offers exposure to high quality work, autonomy, and the opportunity to develop within a supportive and collaborative environment.
The Dispute Resolution team represents clients in High Court litigation across England and Wales. The team is also highly experienced in Alternative Dispute Resolution, including arbitration and mediation, and is known for delivering pragmatic and commercially focused advice.
Key Experience
- The successful candidate will have experience in contentious probate and related disputes, including:
- Will challenges
- Inheritance Act 1975 claims
- Executor and beneficiary disputes, including Section 50 Administration of Justice Act claims and Section 116 Senior Courts Act claims
- Presumption of death claims
- Trust disputes, including actions against trustees for breach of trust and sham trusts
- Proprietary estoppel, with a strong working knowledge of the relevant legal principles and case law
- Trusts of land matters
- Experience progressing matters in both the County Court and the High Court
The Lawyer will be expected to demonstrate competence in the following areas:
- Delivering an excellent standard of client service.
- Managing matters efficiently with an awareness of financial performance.
- Strong technical ability and attention to detail.
- Leading by example and acting as a positive role model.
- Supporting the supervision, mentoring, and development of colleagues.
