This is an excellent opportunity for a construction disputes lawyer seeking exposure to complex, high-value contentious matters within a respected City practice. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and ambitious team acting on a broad range of sophisticated disputes across a variety of sectors.

The Construction team is widely recognised in the market for its expertise across both contentious and non-contentious construction matters. The disputes team works closely alongside transactional colleagues, advising throughout the full construction lifecycle, from project planning and procurement through to completion and post-completion disputes.
The team acts for an impressive range of clients including developers, contractors, specialist subcontractors, asset managers, building owners and institutional clients across sectors such as offices, logistics, retail, healthcare, biotech, data centres and hospitality. Its contentious practice is particularly noted for its strength in adjudication, Technology and Construction Court litigation, arbitration, mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. The team has also developed a strong market presence in disputes relating to the Building Safety Act.
This role offers the opportunity to join a growing contentious construction practice handling high-quality and often complex disputes. The successful candidate will play an active role in matters from the outset, working closely with clients, experts, counsel and senior lawyers to drive disputes forward and achieve commercially effective outcomes. The role would suit a lawyer with established construction disputes experience who is keen to further develop within a fast-paced and supportive City environment.
Key Responsibilities- Advising clients on a broad range of contentious construction matters, including adjudication, mediation, arbitration and litigation.
- Drafting pre-action correspondence, adjudication submissions and responses, statements of case, witness statements and related dispute documentation.
- Managing day-to-day client contact on ongoing and new contentious matters, under appropriate supervision.
- Assisting with disputes arising from complex commercial developments, defects claims and Building Safety Act-related matters.
- Working closely with clients, experts and counsel to formulate dispute strategy and progress matters efficiently.
- Supporting live projects by providing early-stage dispute advice, risk management guidance and commercially focused strategic input.
- Contributing to the continued growth of the practice through business development and strengthening existing client relationships.
- Experience gained within a recognised construction law practice.
- Strong exposure to contentious construction matters, although candidates with broader construction advisory experience seeking to specialise in disputes will also be considered.
- Sound understanding of construction law and its commercial application.
