Hunters’ client is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to lead a busy fleet operation in Littlehampton.
Transport Manager – The Role
- Manage the day-to-day operation of a large fleet of units and trailers
- Lead transport, network, and night teams, including 3 planners and 35–40 drivers
- Ensure compliance with operator licence requirements, vehicle maintenance, MOTs, and servicing schedules
- Monitor fleet performance, compliance, and KPIs using RHA systems or similar transport software
- Oversee driver recruitment, training, performance management, disciplinaries, and absence cover
- Drive operational efficiency, service delivery, and continuous improvement
Transport Manager – The Fit
- International CPC qualification (essential)
- Transport Manager CPC (preferred)
- Previous experience managing fleets of trailers and units (essential)
- Strong transport compliance and fleet management knowledge
- Experience managing drivers, planners, and operational teams
- Confident communicator who can challenge, motivate, and develop staff
- Class 1 licence or previous professional driving experience desirable
