Hunters client is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join their team in Havant. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, this role plays a key part in managing the supply chain and supporting the Procurement function to ensure materials, plant, and services are delivered on time and within budget.
Senior Buyer - The Role
- Source suppliers, negotiate pricing, and secure best value procurement solutions
- Manage procurement of materials, plant, and services in line with project schedules
- Build strong relationships with internal teams including Contracts and Estimating
- Produce cost/value reports and support budgeting and lifecycle cost analysis
- Support the Procurement Manager with team coordination, training, and department operations
Senior Buyer - The Fit
- Proven experience in procurement and supply chain within construction or civil engineering
- Strong negotiation, data analysis, and supplier management skills
- Knowledge of material specifications and compliance with QHSE standards
- Confident communicator with the ability to manage stakeholders and support team development
- Relevant qualification (HNC preferred) and/or CIPS qualification desirable, with a proactive and results-driven approach
