We are seeking a Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join our award‑winning Family & Relationships team. You will support partners and fee‑earners with case preparation, client liaison, document management, court processes, and general administrative duties. This is a varied, fast‑paced role providing hands‑on exposure to high‑quality family law work within a top‑ranked and highly respected team. You will be the central point of contact for the partners you support and will work closely with the broader Family support team.
Responsibilities
- Preparing case documents, correspondence, and draft materials for partners and associates
- Collating and preparing court bundles and other document bundles, including managing Bundledocs usage
- Assisting with preparation for and attendance at internal and external meetings
- Liaising with clients, Counsel’s Chambers, and court staff by phone, email, and in person as required
- Overseeing court portal cases and diarising key dates for partners
- Opening files and supporting AML/CDD compliance processes
- Managing diary entries, scheduling meetings, and taking messages for fee‑earners
- Ensuring accurate e‑filing and document organisation in line with house style
- Producing and reformatting documents, and generating template correspondence
- Preparing posting slips, supporting billing processes, and drafting cost update letters
- Completing family law forms and applications using Quantum
- Coordinating digital enquiries (Moneypenny, Settify, Quecha) and circulating conflict searches
- Supporting business development and marketing initiatives as required
- Providing general administrative support and undertaking ad‑hoc tasks across the Family team
Experience & Skills
- Law degree or other recognised legal qualification
- Minimum one year’s experience working as a Family Law Paralegal
- Strong communication skills: confident, articulate, calm, and capable with clients and court officials
- Excellent organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail; ability to manage workload independently
- Professional, discreet, and a collaborative team player
- IT proficiency (or ability to quickly learn): iManage, Adobe Acrobat, P4W, Practical Law/LexisNexis, Docusign, Kappris/Bundledocs, Quantum, Land Registry portal, Smartsearch, Word, Excel, and Big Hand digital dictation
