As a Legal Secretary/PA in our Family department, you will provide dedicated support to two Partners and their Associates, assisting with a wide range of administrative and legal tasks. This role is ideal for someone with experience in complex family law matters, including children cases, domestic abuse, international disputes, and pro bono work.
You will work closely with other members of the support team and report to the HR Director. The ideal candidate will be resilient, highly organised, and able to manage a varied workload with discretion and professionalism.
Job responsibilities
- Open files and assist with client due diligence (CDD), including ID collection and AML pack preparation
- Manage reminders for cost estimate reviews and ensure AML documentation is up to date
- Liaise with clients and fee earners to organise meetings and manage diaries/inboxes
- Assist with bookings for conferences and other appointments
- Handle telephone calls and messages professionally
- E-file documents and ensure correct formatting in line with house style
- Prepare correspondence and reformat documents
- Prepare posting slips and assist with billing processes, including draft bills and finalisation
- Manage printing, scanning, and postal requests
- Support file closure processes, including storage and client feedback
- Prepare forms and bundles, ensuring accuracy and consistency
- Monitor, manage amalgamate bundles as needed
- Coordinate digital enquiries, conflict searches, and case assignments
- Download documents and diarise deadlines from court orders
- Perform other ad hoc duties as required by the team
