Job Title: Sewing Machinist (Heavy Fabrics)
Location: Ecclesfield, Sheffield (S35)
Pay Rate: From £13.00 per hour
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am – 4:30pm (30 min unpaid break) – hours negotiable, up to 40 per week. Part-time considered.

Hunters 4 Staff are recruiting on behalf of our client, Diamond Rail Services, a well-established manufacturer supplying the transport industry. They’re looking for an experienced sewing machinist who can confidently work with heavy fabrics to produce high-quality industrial seating covers.
This is a hands-on role in a supportive, practical environment where skill and reliability really matter.
Key Responsibilities
- Sewing heavy-duty fabrics to produce industrial seating covers
- Working from patterns and specifications with accuracy
- Operating industrial sewing machines safely and efficiently
- Checking finished work for quality and consistency
- Keeping your work area clean and organised
- Working as part of a small, experienced production team
Requirements
- Proven experience as a sewing machinist
- Confidence sewing heavy or industrial fabrics
- Good attention to detail and pride in your work
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- Experience in upholstery or industrial textiles is an advantage
