Overview of the Role

A Senior Architectural Technician is required to support the technical delivery of education-sector projects from design development through to completion. The role will involve producing coordinated technical information, managing projects through the RIBA stages, and working closely with clients and wider design teams. Strong Revit and AutoCAD skills are required, alongside proven project-running experience.

Practice & Project Information

The position is with an established architectural practice working across multiple sectors. You will primarily support education projects, producing detailed technical information and coordinating project delivery. Schemes include schools and further education environments, requiring an understanding of statutory requirements, design coordination, information release schedules and the practical delivery of architectural projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare coordinated drawings, designs, specifications and schedules to support design development and information releases
  • Take responsibility for projects through the RIBA stages, maintaining technical quality and programme requirements
  • Coordinate architectural information with clients, consultants and other members of the design team
  • Produce accurate technical information using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Provide technical input during client meetings and project discussions
  • Manage project delivery against agreed design, coordination and information milestones

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years post-qualification experience within architectural or technical project delivery
  • Previous experience working on education-sector projects
  • Strong Revit skills and confidence producing coordinated project information
  • Strong AutoCAD skills
  • Proven experience managing and delivering projects through the RIBA stages
  • Knowledge of DfE working practices and primary or secondary school design would be beneficial
