This is a great opportunity to join a growing company based in Somerset, who are going through an acquisition phase. You will be joining an experienced team and undertake a wide range of duties throughout your day, listed below!
The Role:
- Plan the workflow and steps needed to complete each job.
- Measure and mark materials for cutting or shaping.
- Read and interpret CAD drawings to choose the correct machinery.
- Set up and program batch sizes, machine speeds, and related parameters.
- Monitor machines, adjusting feeds, temperatures, and resolving issues as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
- Operate lathes, milling machines, slotters, grinders, and pillar drills.
- Operate CNC machinery.
- Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and vernier gauges.
The Person:
- Proven experience as a Machinist.
- Experience working with Machine tools.
- Welding experience.
- Experienced working on a range of CNC Machinery.
- Able to read schematics and engineering manuals.
