Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance on plant equipment to ensure smooth operation.
  • Diagnose faults and prioritise tasks to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain and optimise pumps, valves, compressed air systems, and chemical blending processes.
  • Support engineering projects including installations, commissioning, and relocations.
  • Carry out mechanical fitting, pipework, and pump maintenance tasks.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and record activities in the CMMS system.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Time-served apprenticeship or strong hands-on experience, ideally in chemical or food manufacturing.
  • NVQ/C&G mechanical qualifications (Tig Welding) (HNC/HND desirable).
  • Mechanical fitting skills (welding, pipework, valves, pumps).
  • COMAH experience and knowledge of chemical/stainless-steel fabrication desirable.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and work safely to standards.
