This role is integral to maintaining the efficiency of our utility systems and services that support high-speed food processing and production operations. Role & Responsibilities: Manage the operation and maintenance of site utilities, including water, steam, refrigeration, and compressed air systems. Perform reactive and planned maintenance on utilities infrastructure to ensure reliability and efficiency. Troubleshoot and repair site services equipment, including pumps, compressors, boilers, and HVAC systems. Collaborate with production teams to maintain seamless operations and ensure minimal downtime. Implement continuous improvement practices focusing on optimizing utility performance and reducing energy usage. Participate in project work related to utilities systems including installations, upgrades, and modifications. Conduct both mechanical and electrical fault finding on utility systems and associated equipment. Requirements: Ideal qualifications include a time-served apprenticeship or equivalent (minimum NVQ Level 3 Engineering). Practical experience in a utilities or site services role within the food or FMCG/packaging industry. Strong troubleshooting skills for both mechanical and electrical systems. Comfortable with large mechanical repairs and installations. Familiarity with maintenance practices for industrial utilities such as pumps, compressors, and HVAC systems. Understanding of regulations and best practices for site services and utilities management.
