We are seeking an Electrically Biased Service Engineer with a background in Controls systems to join a specialist engineering organisation supporting customers across the UK. This is a home-based role, ideally suited to a candidate located near Telford, with regular nationwide travel to customer sites. When you aren’t out at customer sites, you will be expected to be on site at their Service facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, fault-finding, and maintenance of complex electrical and electronic systems, providing high-quality technical support and ensuring equipment reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out on-site service, maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical and electronic systems
- Diagnose and resolve faults on electrical motors, drives, and associated control systems
- Provide breakdown support and planned service activities at customer sites across the UK
- Fault-find and troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems
- Complete service reports and documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Act as a technical representative on customer sites, delivering a professional and customer-focused service
- Liaise with internal engineering teams and customers to ensure effective resolution of technical issues
You will ideally have:
- Strong electrical bias with proven experience as a Service Engineer or Maintenance Engineer
- Hands-on experience working with electrical motors and electronic systems
- PLC fault-finding capability, ideally with Siemens and Allen Bradley platforms
- A recognised electrical engineering qualification (Level 3 or above, or equivalent)
- A flexible approach to travel and working hours
- A full UK driving licence
