The Opportunity

We're currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our production team on a days-based shift pattern. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, improving plant performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on a wide range of mechanical equipment.
  • Respond to and resolve breakdowns efficiently, minimising downtime.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and rotating equipment.
  • Support continuous improvement activities to enhance machine reliability and performance.
  • Work closely with production teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS systems.
  • Contribute to a strong health & safety culture, ensuring all work is carried out safely and in compliance with regulations.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment - ex-forces encouraged to apply.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems such as gearboxes, pumps, bearings, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and generators.
  • Experience working with PPM systems and maintenance planning tools.
  • Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. HNC, NVQ, Apprenticeship or equivalent).
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
