About:
We're looking for an experienced Engineering Team Leader to join a high‑performing manufacturing site and play a key role in maintaining and optimising production performance. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior engineer ready to step up, or an established team leader looking for a new challenge within a well‑invested, forward‑thinking operation.
You'll lead a small on‑shift engineering team, drive reliability, support continuous improvement, and ensure equipment uptime across fast‑paced FMCG lines.
Responsibilities:
- Leading and developing a team of engineers across the shift
- Prioritising and delegating maintenance tasks to maximise efficiency
- Supporting planned, reactive, and preventative maintenance across production assets
- Ensuring full compliance with site H&S procedures (permits, RAMS, audits)
- Working with automation, packaging, and processing equipment (conveyors, robotics, weighing, vision systems, thermoformers, etc.)
- Working closely with senior engineering leadership to improve performance, downtime, and reliability
- Supporting training, skills gap development, and contractor management
- Balancing hands-on and hands-off duties depending on operational needs
Requirements:
- Multi-Skilled engineer with 5 years manufacturing experience
- Proven engineering experience within FMCG manufacturing, food or packaging production
- Level 3 or above in Engineering
- Electrical certification or qualification (18th Edition or others considered)
- PLC fault finding experience - I/O level
- Good knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors, motors, and inverters
- Experience supervising or leading small teams
- Strong communicator with good initiative and problem-solving ability
Good to Have:
- PLC programming exposure
- CI / improvement experience
- OEM liaison experience
- Health & Safety qualifications
