Field Service Engineer Location: Staffordshire Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 DOE Benefits: Company Vehicle, Expenses Paid, Pension Scheme Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday Travel: UK-Wide Travel Required The Opportunity An excellent opportunity has become available for a skilled Field Service Engineer to join a well-established engineering business specialising in industrial machinery and equipment. This is a varied and rewarding role where you'll be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of equipment at customer sites across the UK. We're looking for a practical engineer with strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills who enjoys working independently, solving problems and delivering first-class customer support. With a mix of site-based work and occasional support from the Stafford facility, this position offers the chance to work on a wide range of equipment while travelling throughout the UK. Key Responsibilities Install, commission and service industrial machinery and equipment at customer sites. Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support. Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults efficiently. Undertake electrical testing, wiring and fault finding on industrial systems. Work with motors, drives, sensors, control systems and associated equipment. Read and interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings and technical documentation. Complete service reports and maintain accurate records of work carried out. Provide technical support and training to customers where required. Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company and customer procedures. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, delivering a professional service at all times. About You Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Engineer or similar role. Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Experience working with industrial machinery, manufacturing equipment or automated systems. Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and wiring schematics. Good mechanical knowledge and practical engineering skills. Comfortable travelling extensively throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays. Full UK Driving Licence. Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving abilities. Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach. What's on Offer?
