This is a great opportunity to join a growing company based in Somerset, who are going through an acquisition phase. You will be joining an experienced team and undertake a wide range of duties throughout your day, listed below!

The Role:

  • Plan the workflow and steps needed to complete each job.
  • Measure and mark materials for cutting or shaping.
  • Read and interpret CAD drawings to choose the correct machinery.
  • Set up and program batch sizes, machine speeds, and related parameters.
  • Monitor machines, adjusting feeds, temperatures, and resolving issues as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.
  • Operate lathes, milling machines, slotters, grinders, and pillar drills.
  • Operate CNC machinery.
  • Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and vernier gauges.

The Person:

  • Proven experience as a Machinist.
  • Experience working with Machine tools.
  • Welding experience.
  • Experienced working on a range of CNC Machinery.
  • Able to read schematics and engineering manuals.
