Join a leading design and manufacturer of full turnkey projects for food processing & packaging machinery. Due to further growth within the business, they are looking for an experienced hands-on Electrical Design Engineer to join their projects team.

Role & Responsibilities of an Electrical Design Engineer:

  • Conduct control panel layouts, schematic drawings, component & cable specification
  • Create electrical, pneumatic & hydraulic diagrams using EPlan Pro Panel software
  • Work closely with mechanical design, projects & software teams
  • PLC / HMi selection in line with the software department
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers and wider teams
  • Work with low voltage, single & 3-phase AC systems (110V - 600V)
  • Spec and source components and other hardware
  • Office based role, with occasional travel to customer sites, sometimes overseas
  • Work to appropriate legislation standards - electrical safety, BS7671, ISO13489

Knowledge, Skills & Experience needed to be an Electrical Design Engineer:

  • Must have electrical CAD experience using EPlan Pro Panel software
  • HNC / HND qualified in Electrical Engineering
  • Be an expert in control panel design work
  • Proven electrical wiring experience with design for projects
  • Able to manage a dynamic workload in an ever-changing projects environment
  • Able to read & interpret technical drawings & data
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail
  • Mechanical knowledge / experience would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of PLC's - Siemens, Mitsubishi & Allen Bradley
  • Happy to still be hands-on electrically, providing technical assistance on control panels
  • Must be able to drive, as there is no public transport access to the office.
