Would you like to work for a growing local business that has the job security of being part of a global food manufacturer? Due to additional high-speed production lines being installed, they are looking for a new Shift Engineer to join their team.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reactive & planned maintenance across all areas of engineering - manufacturing, production, site services, infrastructure & plant equipment
  • Carry out PPM schedules effectively and efficiently
  • Working on high-speed production & packaging lines
  • Involved with site project work - installations & upgrades to machinery
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding & repairs
  • Dealing with pneumatics, motors, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, drives, hydraulics, compressors

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Multi-skilled maintenance engineer - ideally electrical biased
  • City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 qualified in engineering as a minimum requirement
  • Must have completed a time-served apprenticeship
  • Worked in a similar fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • PLC - electrical fault finding skills
  • Able to work to time sensitive breakdowns and repairs
  • Worked on structured PPM's - on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working in refrigerated and freezer type conditions
  • Mechanical fabrication, fitting, welding, machining skills beneficial
