Mechanical Project Engineer (12 month FTC) Neath / Port Talbot £50,000 - £65,000 + excellent benefits Operating on a global scale, this world leading manufacturer of high quality, specialised engineered products are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer for their South Wales facility. This is a 12 month fixed term role with the possibility of becoming permanent. The role is very much hands-on and will lead a newly funded UK project, to design, implement and validate a system for a highly technical process within a metal manufacturing environment. The Mechanical Project Engineer will own the project lifecycle, from requirements and design, through instrumentation and trials, to reporting successful delivery, improving process stability and yield.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Project plan: scope, milestones, risks and deliverables
  • Specify, install and commission instrumentation & control (e.g. flow, pressure, temperature, high-speed data capture)
  • Plan and run process trials, collect and analyse process & product data to validate performance
  • Coordinate equipment installation, production trials and contractor activities
  • Produce technical reports, including KPI's, results, CAPEX/OPEX implications, and safety documentation
  • Ensure adherence to HSE, quality and governance standards

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstratable Project Engineering / Project Management experience in a Production or R&D environment, with the ability to run structured process trials and produce technical documentation
  • Strong grasp of fluid dynamics, thermal processes and Mechanical equipment design
  • Hands-on experience with instrumentation & controls selection, installation and commissioning
