The Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanically Skilled Engineer to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a key position within a multi-skilled engineering team, responsible for maintaining and improving the performance, reliability, and safety of high-speed production equipment. You will also be given Electrical training courses and qualifications to become a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair fast-moving, complex manufacturing equipment to minimise downtime
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related faults
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Work on pumps, valves, conveyors, and high-speed machinery
- Apply strong root cause analysis techniques to prevent recurring issues
- Collaborate closely with production, quality, and engineering teams
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and compliance
About You
You will be an apprentice-trained engineer with strong experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment. You'll be confident working independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Proven experience in a multi-skilled engineering role within a fast-moving manufacturing or logistics environment
- Strong mechanical and electrical engineering background
- Experience working on high-speed machinery, pumps, valves, and PLCs
- Good working knowledge of filling and process technologies
- Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
- Solid understanding of preventative maintenance techniques
- Strong teamwork, communication, and cross-functional working skills
