My client is looking for an experienced Tooling Design Engineer to join the team. This role is key to the business's success within its Toolroom and design functions. With a global customer base, state of the art technology and extensive on-going training and progression/development, this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual with experience in Injection Moulding Tool Design.
Role Description
- Provide sound technical advice to the best of your knowledge on mould design best practice.
- Regularly communicate the mould design status; and escalate any deviations to timelines, design cost or specification immediately.
- Conduct effective mould design handovers to stakeholders.
- Responsible for effective liaison with suppliers, or potential suppliers.
- Responsible for sending BOM of all tooling projects to suppliers and receiving quotes for required Bolster, Manifold and Ancillary Items.
- Apply sound mould design engineering principles to optimise projects for manufacture, reliability & ease of maintenance.
- Utilise full functionality of CAD software to ensure designs are modelled to highest technical standards.
- Preparing 2D layouts in AutoCAD where required, plus full 3D designs and 2D detail drawings in Creo design software.
- Support all internal and external stakeholders when agreed with tooling Manager, to ensure allocated tooling projects are completed, regularly communicated & managed effectively.
Skills and Qualifications
- Qualified Engineer as a minimum Level 3 in Mould Design based upon experience.
- Background in mould design or mould manufacturing.
- Competent in mould design CAD software preferably Creo & AutoCAD.
- Positive 'can-do' attitude - able to remain calm under pressure and influence the views of others.
- Knowledge of engineering data management systems.
- Competent in EMX, Solidworks & Cadmould software.
