Hunter Selection are working with a household name in South Wales, based in the Newbridge area, who are looking to recruit a maintenance engineer to their engineering team. This is a great time to join a secure and established business who have a long history in South Wales. This role would be well suited to an experienced engineer who has worked on shift, and can work in a multiskilled capacity.
Role & Responsibilities:
- To ensure maximum machine available time at least cost, through effective PPM schedules.
- Together with other plant engineers and team leaders, actively strive to ensure that your time is orientated towards achieving machine maintenance hours on planned work.
- Ensure that a Total Quality Approach is implemented across the site throughout all your duties.
- To maximise the resource base always and ensure quality maintenance standards are obtained.
- Ensuring that spares used by yourself are always recorded by the appropriate means of recording and to ensure that spares delivered are placed into storage correctly.
- To participate fully in an objective-driven process engineering strategy which production and engineering management have set up with clearly defined objectives that are both realistic and achievable with clear performance indicators or performance measurement on all sides.
- Be responsible for the update of the plant register, providing information for, and ensuring all necessary precautions are adopted to comply with permits.
- To be responsible for the overlap/handover to and from the other shift.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Experience of working in a high volume manufacturing environment.
- Engineering qualifications – Apprenticeship, NVQ Level three, HNC are desirable.
- Experience of working on machinery such as PLC controlled machinery, packaging machinery, pneumatic controls etc.
