Maintenance Engineer (Electrical / Electronic Biased) in Cambridgeshire (CB24), commutable from Cambridge, Huntingdon, St. Neots, Newmarket, Royston, South Peterborough.

Salary: Β£40,000-Β£45,000 + Bonus

Our client is a leading special purpose materials manufacturer that values hard work, teamwork, and developing people. They are looking for a maintenance engineer that is strongly biased towards electrical & electronics.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reactive & planned maintenance across all areas of engineering
  • Electrical, electronic and mechanical fault finding / problem solving on machinery/equipment
  • Working on a variety of special purpose machinery, vacuum systems, industrial processing equipment, lighting & power systems, conveyors, ovens, heat treatment machinery
  • Fault finding down to electronic component level - circuits, RF drives, PCBs
  • PLC - electrical fault finding
  • Soldering, electrical inspection, PAT testing
  • Reading and following circuit and electrical wiring diagrams
  • Carry out PPM schedules and update records
  • Conducting machine/equipment testing and procedure improvements

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Must be an electrical / electronic biased engineer
  • Be able to read & interpret electrical drawings and electronic diagrams
  • Experience of working in manufacturing / production industries
  • Must be an experienced / time-served engineer/electrician
  • Qualified ideally to ONC/HNC electrical/electronics
  • Must be able to fault find / problem solve down to electronic component level
  • RF experience desirable
  • High voltage experience would be great - AC / DC power supplies
  • Good soldering skills
  • Team player with a get stuck in attitude
  • Beneficial to have City & Guilds 2391 Elec Inspection & Testing and 17th / 18th Edition PLC knowledge desirable
  • Able to make own decisions and plan own workload accordingly
